Choice of background is spot on for this piece of work. Grey works best with reds to deep blues. The models pose is quite striking. Having the model "en pointe" creates a very strong pose, but the placement of her head, arms and fingers softens the pose yet still leaving the strength there.

Lighting, is very slightly too much for my liking, but then that is my personal preference. it does however work here. The models mask adds mystique to the work. And the addition of the gold necklace not only compliments the gold trim on the dress but also breaks the expanse of flesh on the models chest.
If I would change anything on this work I'd maybe chose red ballet shoes rather than pink, but this change might also be a little too much.

Over all I am enchanted with this work.
